Overview
This interactive eLearning module was created to guide university HR staff through the decision-making process of submitting faculty job offers using the Faculty Express system. By simulating real-world scenarios and offering contextual feedback, the module helps reduce errors, streamline submissions, and boost user confidence in navigating complex workflows.
My Responsibilites
I designed and developed this branching scenario in Articulate Rise to guide HR staff through the Faculty Express job offer submission process, reducing procedural errors and increasing user confidence.

Problem
New HR representatives at the university often struggled to correctly determine when and how to submit a job offer through the Faculty Express system. The submission process involved nuanced rules—such as when to use an ePAF versus a job offer, appointment type selections, and workflow routing—all of which were buried in lengthy documents and confusing guidance emails. As a result, incorrect submissions and workflow delays were common.
Solution
To help HR staff confidently navigate the decision-making process, I created an interactive, scenario-based eLearning module using Articulate Rise. The branching scenario walks learners through realistic decision points for submitting faculty job offers, offering immediate feedback, clarification, and redirection based on their choices. The module reinforces key procedural knowledge in a contextual, low-risk environment.
Design and Development
Working closely with HR subject matter experts, I identified the most common missteps in the Faculty Express process. I then mapped a branching scenario using real-world examples to replicate the types of choices HR reps make when submitting job offers.
The learning experience was developed in Articulate Rise, using interactive blocks, knowledge checks, and custom feedback to guide learners through correct and incorrect responses. I ensured that each path reinforced university policy while using plain language and visual cues to aid comprehension.
The final module was embedded in Canvas LMS and accompanied by links to relevant job aids for reference.
Takeaways
This project showcased the power of branching scenarios in simplifying complex administrative decision-making. Learners reported increased clarity and confidence in using Faculty Express, and HR leadership noted fewer submission errors. The project reinforced the effectiveness of interactive learning in reducing policy violations and boosting process compliance—especially when paired with job aids and visual tools.
